A Chandigarh court today charged Vikas Barala, the son of the Haryana BJP chief, and his friend Ashish Kumar with stalking and attempting to kidnap a senior IAS officer’s daughter, Varnika Kundu, in a case that had triggered widespread outrage and a spate of protests.

The two had chased the 29-year-old woman in their car through the streets of Chandigarh while she was driving to Panchkula on August 5.

The Correspondent has accessed  Chandigarh Police Investigation Report  on Vikas Barala,which says

1.Police investigation under section 173 CRPC submitted in the court clearly stated that Vikas Barala and his friend Ashish Kumar confessed their offence.
2 – They identified the squence of crime in presence of police officials.
3- CCTV footage of various cameras recovered and mentioned in police investigation as 65 evidence act
4- the police took CCTV footage of liquor word sector 9 chandigarh as part of investigation.
5- the police investigation clearly stated that Vikas Barala ” Gandi intention” se raat ko picha kar rehe tha. 6- Police also concluded that the crime was with intention to kidnap so the challan produced under section 365 511 341, 354- D sections of IPC along with 185 Motor vehicle Act.
