Punjab police arrested three suspected Khalistani militants from MP August 11, 2017
Claiming to be in a major breakthrough the Punjab Police’s State Special Operations Cell has arrested three suspected Khalistani militants from Gwalior of Madhya Pradesh last night. According to the information provided   by the police spokesperson, the militants had association with terror module run by Canada-based Gurjeet Cheema, and he is supplying  arms and other logistic support. This Gwalior module was working on the directions of Pakistan-based chief of the International Sikh Youth Federation (ISYF) Lakhbir Singh Rode. The three arrested were identified as  Balkar Singh, Balwinder Singh and Satinder Singh Rawat were produced before the Duty Magistrate at Ajnala in Amritsar  remanded in police custody till August 16.  They were arrested with the help of the Madhya Pradesh Anti-Terrorist Squad during a follow-up operations after it had arrested the two Maan Singh of Gurdaspur and Sher Singh of Jalandhar on May 21.  The police has also claimed to have recovered a large consignment of arms and ammunition sent by the ISYF from them. The police said Cheema, who belongs to Jogi Cheema village in Gurdaspur, was now based in Brampton, Ontario in Canada.
