Urge fraternity not to work with Pakistani artistes: Madhur

The Pulwama terror attack led to the loss of at least 40 CRPF personnel’s lives. The whole nation is shaken and offered their condolences, respects and prayers to the martyrs and their families. A lot of  Bollywood celebrities also offered their respects through their tweets. Veteran actress Shabana Azmi tweeted today that India must not work with the Pakistani artists.

She shared, “#Pulwama attack There is no way we can carry on with cultural exchanges between India and Pakistan even as our martyrs are laying down their lives for us. I stand in solidarity with the grieving families.”

Director Madhur Bhandarkar said that the news is disturbing. He said, “Every Indian has been disturbed since last evening since the time the Pulwama terrorist attack took place. Seeing the jawans coffins wrapped in the Indian flag is very depressing. I believe that we should stop all cultural ties with Pakistan. We sleep peacefully in the cities because of these Jawans and not only me, but every Indian has the same sentiment.”

On industry still working with Pakistani artists, Madhur said, “Indians and Pakistanis have always heard each other’s singers and composers songs but in such situations, I urge my fraternity to stop working with Pakistanis till things come back to normalcy. I stand united with Army and every Indian and I urge my fraternity to do the same.”

Meanwhile, Kangana Ranaut also said that Bollywood should not work with Pakistani artists. She said “Pakistan has not only violated our nation’s security they have also attacked our dignity by openly threatening and humiliating us, we need to take decisive actions or else our silence will be misunderstood for our cowardice.”
