New Feature for Tik Tok Users

TikTok has been in the news for all the wrong reasons of late, and it is mostly because of the safety concerns of the users. On account of that TikTok, short video making platform, announced ‘Device Management’ feature especially for the Indian users out there. Device Management is a safety feature that enables users to have complete control of their account. TikTok currently has over 200 million Indian users.

“With safety being a key priority at TikTok, the launch of the device management feature is a part of TikTok’s ongoing safety initiative,” the social media platform noted. The new Device Management feature enables users to manage the safety of their account better than ever before. The feature also allows users to end sessions or remove their accounts from other devices from within the TikTok app to better manage the safety of their account.

Before the Device Management feature, TikTok has  already introduced several other safety features especially for the Indian users of the app. The app now has safety features like age gate, restricted mode, screen time management, comments filter and safety centre. TikTok says these features are “helping users to safely showcase their creative expression through their videos.”

Additionally, to ensure Indian users are safe online TikTok has also released a series of educational videos in Hindi and English to educate users. With these videos, TikTok aims to help users understand and learn how these safety features work. TikTok currently has 14 safety features.

“TikTok constantly promotes a safe and positive app experience for its over 200 million users in India by offering them in-app tools and educational content to equip them with all the information they need to have the best possible experience while showcasing their creativity. The new feature further empowers them to manage their online presence in a wise and safe way and choose the sessions they want to end,” the company notes on the launch of new safety features.
