Rohtak MP Deepender Hooda has said his seat would be crucial in deciding the course of Haryana politics. “The Congress will oust the BJP from power by winning the Rohtak Lok Sabha seat by a thumping margin,” he said.
He was in the district’s Aasodha village to address a meeting of party workers.
Deepender hit back at Chief Minister Manohar Lal Khattar for “misleading” remarks against him. “Khattar has misled people by presenting wrong information about my properties. I shall reply at an appropriate time, but it is astonishing that the Chief Minister and his entire team are targeting me and my father (former CM Bhupinder Singh Hooda) instead of listing out their achievements to seek votes,” he said.
During a roadshow in Bahadurgarh, Khattar had accused Deepender of amassing properties during his tenure as an MP from 2009 to 2014.
The CM had claimed that Deepender’s affidavit submitted at the time of the 2009 General Election mentioned that his property was worth Rs6.5 crore but, in the next five years, he amassed properties worth Rs35 crore.
