J&K-Teacher-Threatens-Student

In a shocking incident, a teacher at a private school in Jammu and Kashmir’s Kupwara district was caught on camera threatening a student with an axe. The video of the incident has sent shockwaves after it became viral on social media.

The incident reportedly occurred at Wagat village of Handwara area of Kupwara. Meanwhile, local residents have demanded strict action against the teacher for terrorising a minor student.

The student, who is said to be 9-years-old, could be seen cowering in fear as the suspected teacher brandises axe to threaten him.

There were other students in the class when the teacher took to an obnoxious method to threaten the student. The victim could be seen crying in fear as other students sitting nearby were also scared after witnessing the incident.

The reason for the teacher’s dastardly act is not known yet. Local police said that they have taken note of the viral video and started investigating the matter.

In a similar case of corporal punishment in October 2018, an 8-year-old boy in Uttar Pradesh’s Banda district died allegedly after he was thrashed by his school teacher. The kin of the student said that the boy’s ribs were broken at the time he told his parents about his teacher’s violent impulses. A student of the Sahyog Ashram Vidyalaya, the boy returned home one day and complained of paining ribs. His parents then took him to the nearest hospital where it was discovered that his ribs were broken.

He was then referred to a hospital in the district where his parents planned to take him the next day. Unfortunately, the boy died before he could be taken for further medical attention.

Similarly, in November 2018, a class 6 student was left paralysed after allegedly being beaten up by his school teacher in Pune. The teacher allegedly beat up the boy for not being able to draw a picture. The boy was suffering from paralysis on the entire right side of the body.

The drawing teacher in question reportedly asked the class to draw two paintings. However, the victim student was unable to paint these pictures. The teacher thus beat him up brutally. The school reportedly did not inform the victim’s parents about the abuse.

The parents noticed bruises on the victim’s body after he went home for Diwali holidays. On being asked, the boy narrated the ordeal to his family. His parents took note of the situation and informed the school management about the entire issue.

The school principal later suspended the teacher and assured parents that necessary action will be taken against the teacher and a full investigation was promised into the entire incident.
