Kirandul-Vishakhapatnam train to run daily, fares to reduce

New Delhi – The Indian Railways is providing three new trains to Chhattisgarh. Railways Minister Piyush Goyal decided to allot three new trains to Chhattisgarh at an important meeting with the Chief Minister Dr Raman Singh.

The three new trains are: Chhattisgarh Antyodaya Express from Raipur to Ferozpur, Humsafar Express (Kolkata-Bilaspur-Pune) and (Jabalpur-Bilaspur-Kolkata) Humsafar Express. The name of Chhattisgarh Antyodaya Express train between Raipur and Ferozpur was suggested by the Chief Minister himself. He suggested that the train should be flagged off on Labours Day i.e. May 1.

On chief minister’s request to increase sanctioned amount of Rs 11 crore to Rs 26 crore for upgrading Dongargarh railway station and expansion of facilities for passengers, the railways minister agreed and gave instructions regarding the same. In the meeting, the chief minister demanded that fares of Karandul- Vishakhapatnam special train should be reduced and it should run daily. The union minister accepted the demand and said it will be implemented from July.

The agreement was made in the meeting to extend Gurg-Raipur passenger train to Naya Raipur Mandir Hasod Railway station. Rail Board officials informed the meeting that DPR of Raoghat-Jagdalpur rail line has also been sanctioned. Secretary to CM Subhodh Kumar and other senior officials of the Railway board were present at the meeting.
