TC Bureau Mohali: On 20th August 2020 Software Technology Parks of India (STPI) organized an Outreach activity / Webinar for Promotion of Next Generation Incubation Scheme (NGIS) for the IT/ITES startups engaged in development of Software Products.
The programme was attended by: Dr. Omkar Rai, Director General, STPI in the august presence of Shri Rajneesh Agrawal, Director STPI Noida Shri Subodh Sachan, Director STPI HQ.Shri Sameer Jain, Chief Mentor NGIS Mohali Centre and CEO Net solutions, Shri Hirdesh Madan, President TIE Chandigarh, and Shri Ajay P. Shrivastava, OIC STPI Mohali.
Speaking on the Occasion, Dr. Omkar Rai, DG, STPI enlightened on NGIS & stated that the both Soft & Hard features of NGIS & STPI COEs will be instrumental for building the country a Software Product Nation. He pointed that NGIS is a futuristic Incubation Scheme which offers comprehensive support & services to technology start-ups from various STPI incubation facilities pan-India under one common umbrella. The basis objective of the Scheme to support up to 300 Startups/entrepreneurs with Incubation, Finance/Seed funding, Mentorship support through pan India mentor pool and Entrepreneurs Platforms to enable networking, knowledge-sharing and co-learning & Internship Grants to promising startups
STPI Neuron, a Centre of Excellence in AI/Data Analytics, IoT and AVG is setup in collaboration with Govt. of Punjab, ISB-Mohali, PTU and MeitY. This is an initiative, to identify and evaluate promising start-ups in the field of AI/Data Analytics, IoT and AVG that will be hosted in the Startup Punjab Hub@STPI (SPHS) Mohali Incubation Facility. Startup Punjab Hub@STPI Mohali will have dedicated 500 seats co-working space and dedicated labs for AI/Data Analytics, IoT and AVG. Apart from physical infrastructure, the hub will have the access to Technocrats mentorship, mentorship programs and VC funding.
Idea Challenge Program:
Next Generation Incubation Scheme (NGIS) is STPI’s comprehensive incubation scheme which has a vision to drive the rise of India as a Software Product Nation so as to make India a global player in development, production and supply of Innovative, Efficient and Secure Software Products thus facilitating the growth across the entire spectrum of ICT sector as envisioned in the National Policy on Software Products (NPSP) – 2019. The same is implemented at Incubation Centre STPI Mohali with focus on AI/Data Analytics technologies. The scheme aims to provide benefits of pan-India mentor pool, knowledge sharing, co-learning & networking and continuous capacity building & skill enhancement through seminars, workshops & trainings.
NextGen Startup Challenge Contest (CHUNAUTI – Challenge Hunt Under NGIS for Advanced Uninhibited Technology Intervention) is a challenge under NGIS to find the products & solutions to address the issues/challenges faced during and post pandemic situation. CHUNAUTI is looking to identify and support the solutions which can support Government, industries & public at large for their seamless operations and enabling them to face the varied difficulties & bottlenecks during and post pandemic situation.

The objective of NGIS Scheme is to nurture the Incubation Units and dispersal of the IT/ITES units to Tier II & Tier III cities of the country.
Around 200+ Startups/IT Companies participated in the Webinar who were encouraged to submit their innovative ideas from the focused technologies & can become a beneficiary of NGIS by participating in the ‘All India Start-up Challenges/Hackathons’ and be part of the building the Software Product Nation.
