The atrocious attack on the CRPF fueled a sense of revenge in the heart of every Indian. After the catastrophe, citizens demanding another ‘Surgical Strike’, ‘war’ and ‘Anti-Pak Slogans’, pierced the peaceful streets of a nation which has never initiated any hostility.
The sense of antagonism is justifiable to a large extent as it is not the first time that our Forces has to bear such unfortunate fate because of those poltroons, who are, whether someone excepts or not, are the vermin of Pakistan and some like parasites, are in our nation.
Whenever such dreadful attacks are executed, it impinges on the internal peace of the nation. And when the ‘Anti- Pak’ slogans echo in the streets of India, the state of affairs became a fertile field to sow the seed of ‘Politics’. Yes, politics! Whatever the situation may be, these politicians never miss a chance to use the situation for their political advantage.
I can’t understand, how can these politicians or I say pseudo nationalists can use such an unfortunate incident to play the ‘Vote Card’? All they care for is how to gain the support of the people.
It appears like in the shield of the martyrdom of our slain soldiers, Political parties are trying to gain ‘Fan Base’ either by blaming the ruling party, like Mamata Banerjee did, for ignoring the intelligence warning of attacks or by targeting each other on the basis of their statements.
Soon after the attack, the prime minister urged others to refrain from political one-upmanship over the Pulwama attack. Yet, the PM has turned his events– from the flagging off of the Vande Bharat Express to the inauguration of defence corridor in Uttar Pradesh’s Jhansi – into semi-political rallies and platforms for BJP’s electoral messaging. And not to forget, his statement, where he declares giving authority to the Forces, to decide the date and place to avenge the killing of 40 CRPF personnel by ISI-controlled terrorist. I mean where were you in the last 5 years? Why do ministers wait to give authority after some causality occurs?
His speeches revolved around how India is outraged by the Pulwama attack and indicated that a strong military response to Pakistan may be on the cards and asked people to vote for a strong government.
Most of you would think, why would he do it for mere votes? Wasn’t the surgical strike enough to make his contention strong? Well, if you can think this much, you can easily understand, how even army is being used to spread political propaganda. After all, the Modi government has battled allegations of corruption in the Rafael aircraft deal, facing flak for rising unemployment and an unprecedented agrarian crisis in the country.
The saffron party is still recovering from electoral losses in the recent assembly elections. But with such statements which are made in the favour of what people want, taking into consideration the emotional state of mourning nation, the saffron party can easily wash aside the losses and allegations.
For generations, India has valued taking a mature stand in the face of self-destructive attitudes. Right from home to government, men and women have associated India’s well-being with the idea that society must be harmonious; there is a reason for glorifying ‘Unity is Diversity’.
In this context, the events in the aftermath, followed by communal discord, of the horrific Pulwama Tragedy are unnerving. The government, instead of addressing people’s sense of insecurity, finds it easier to talk about revenge. And if the government was really so passionate about the revenge, why did it wait too long, to let the army handle the matter.
This is why the campaigns seem to orchestrate and not spontaneous, emotional outpouring.
The BJP-led government and its supporters have taken the lead in fanning current anxieties. Such is the belligerence of the campaigns that even the government’s critics are struggling to handle the political consequences. And if the government is really concerned about the security of the nation and lives of our soldiers then we deserve an answer to these question, ‘why road wasn’t guarded better and how the terrorist’s vehicle managed to approach the security convoy.’ And even after the intimation by the intelligence agencies, why the matter was ignored?
According to a news website, the terror group had warned of a suicide attack in Kashmir just two days ago. Even the mode of attack was indicated by a video they had uploaded online, showing a strike in Afghanistan, where an explosive-laden vehicle used.
The nature of Pakistan and its relation with India are not new to anyone, then why it took years to conclude that, this is the right time to withdraw the ‘Most Favored Nation’, title. Why the security of separatist leaders in JK removed, after this episode? On the first place, why were they under security? Doesn’t the title ‘Separatist leader’ was enough to understand what they are?
This question is not only for BJP but also for every political party because; this is not the first time our soldiers have met such an unfortunate doom, which they did not deserve.
