Film Industry is considered as one of the harsh fields in world. In film industry there are no limits for your work. Numerous numbers of people try for this field but there are only some who become successful. In film industry you should have looks, brain as well as luck also. If your luck stroked on good then you are successful. In 90’s as this field was not considered as good field by society. The celebrity didn’t use to get same respect as they have it today. That time also have many talented, Bold and beautiful actresses. One of those beautiful actresses there was Nargis Dutt. Nargis was a full pack of beauty, elegance and simplicity. She was called as Lady in White.

Nargis was born on 1st June 1929. Her father was Abdul Rashid and mother was Jaddanbai Hussain. Nargis debuted with a short role as child artist is movie Talash-E-Haq , but her acting career actually began with the film Tamanna (1942). In a career that spanned three decades, she has done many award winning films like Mother India, Raat aur Din. In the age of 28 she has done the role of a mother in film Mother India which was appreciated worldwide. She also won Filmfare Award for Best Actress from playing role of Radha.

She was in affair with Raj Kapoor for 9 years. She has also done many films with him like Shree 420, Ashiana, Bewafa, Awara etc. After 9  years at the time of Mother India shoot fire broke out on set from which Sunil Dutt saved her. But he himself got injured.He was that injured at that time he started fainting from injuries. At the same time his sister got ill and Nargis took care of his sister and him at that time. After that they fell in love with each other. In 1958 they both got married secretly but after one year they announced it officialy which left Raj Kapoor in a great shock.

She has won many awards including Padma Shri in 1958. A postal stamp of face value 100 paise was issued by India Post was issued in Nargis’ honour on 30 December 1993. Google celebrated Nargis Dutt on her 86th birthday on 1 June 2015.The National Film Awards honoured Dutt by instituting the Nargis Dutt Award for Best Feature Film on National Integration upon her achievement in Hindi Cinema.

She was also nominated to the Rajya Sabha from 1980–81 but due to cancer she fell ill and died during her tenure. Nargis went into coma on 2 May 1981 after she became seriously ill and died the next day. Nargis was buried at Badakabarastan in Marine Lines, Mumbai.
