In the modern day world, eating out is not a big deal! A burger here and an ice cream there, what harm could it do, right? No! If you are careless about what to eat and where then you will be prone to several foodborne diseases. Below mentioned are a few items that you should never opt for when you decide to eat outside.

Raw Sprouts

Sprouts are often put into food items like sandwiches to make them crunchy. However, these require humid temperatures to grow. The same conditions can stimulate the growth of harmful bacteria, such as salmonella, E.Colli, etc. If you are still interested in the crunch then go ahead, or else, avoid eating sprouts at restaurants!

Tap Water

Restaurants often keep glasses of water on the table before a customer arrives. This is definitely one of the most harmful things to consume while at a restaurant. In case of this happens, one must always insist on buying bottled water and refrain from consuming the ones in the glasses.

Meat with a bone

Dishes like these take a while to cook, so in most cases, only the outer part is cooked, and the insides are left as it is. When the meat is uncooked, it contains dangerous bacteria and causes foodborne diseases.

Breadbasket

Usually, breadbaskets are passed around from one table to the other in a restaurant. This means that the bread you eat has traveled through many hands before actually reaching your table. This also happens in case of items like peanuts and other complementaries that are often kept on the table.

Buffet

In a buffet, the food is heated and reheated to increase its lifespan. Despite several rules and regulations, not much has been changed in this category. However, it is recommended that the spoons of different dishes be kept separately to avoid the spreading of bacteria.

Fish on a Monday

The seafood stalls are often closed on the weekends, and so there are more chances of the customers eating fish that was bought the previous week. This is definitely unhealthy and is often known to cause food-borne diseases.

The Specials Menu

The specials menu is usually created to finish off the dishes by the evening. The chances are that the dish may not be special after all and may have been prepared beforehand to serve the customers.

Vegetarian Dishes

The vegetarian dishes served at a restaurant may not be veg after all. Some chefs have admitted that these dishes may contain animal products. So if you are a vegetarian, ensure that you do your research thoroughly before you decide to eat out.
