Gourav Chandigarh: Haryana Chief Minister Manohar Lal Khattar while presenting the 5th budget of the state government, announced the allocation of land in Pipli for the construction of a Sikh Museum in the state, to be facilitated by Haryana Shehri Vikas Pradhikaran. The envisioned Sikh Museum will serve as a repository of the glorious history, struggles and contributions of the Sikh religion to the country and mankind.
The Chief Minister said that 5 acres of land has been identified for the establishment of Guru Ravidas Memorial at Pipli Kurukshetra. The design of the memorial is being prepared by HSVP in consultation with experts and stakeholders. The establishment of the memorial will help in commemorating the life and teachings of Guru Ravidas.
The first group of pilgrims will leave for Ayodhya in the first week of March
Manohar Lal said that ‘Haryana Pilgrimage Yatra’ will be launched in December, 2023 to facilitate senior citizens to go on pilgrimage at significant destinations such as Ayodhya, Patna Sahib, Ajmer Sharif, Varanasi, Amritsar, Ujjain, Katra, and Nanded.
The registration process for the scheme has commenced, with the first group scheduled to embark on a pilgrimage to Ayodhya in the initial week of March. Subsequent groups will undertake journeys to one pilgrimage site per week.
Under the scheme, a senior citizen from a family with annual family income up to Rs 1.80 lakh will be eligible for free travel to these pilgrimage sites.
193 media persons are taking benefit of monthly pension of Rs 15,000
He said that the state government has taken many steps for the welfare of media persons. Last year, the pension of media persons was increased from Rs 10,000 to Rs 15,000 per month.
Presently 193 media persons are availing the benefit of monthly pension. The government has increased the insurance coverage of media personnel from Rs 5 lakh to Rs 10 lakh, the entire premium of which is paid by the government, he added.
